The pre press phase includes all the operations involved in preparing the job from the graphic file defined by the graphic designer to the actual printing.
It represents a crucial step in job planning as it allows for careful checking of the file with regard to the following aspects:
- Formatting to the required print size
- Preflight: file inspection for images, fonts, profiles
- Color management and proofing
- Imposition and bleed
- Rasterization, screening, and plate creation for offset printing technology
Cyanotypes are then created for final validation by the client before printing.
